Taproot on Trade

Weird Enough to Be Interesting. Good Enough to Keep.

Not your average consignment shop, Taproot is a curated community marketplace where local vendors design their own booths and shelves with care, creativity, and soul. It’s a shop, yes, but also a collective, a creative studio, and a celebration of slow living, good design, and meaningful connection. Inside, you’ll find a world that feels a little like your most creative friend’s home. Taproot is filled with equal parts vintage charm, handmade magic, and cozy chaos that somehow just works.

What to expect at Taproot

  • One-of-a-kind vintage pieces that feel like they belonged to your great-aunt (the cool one who wore silk kimonos and red lipstick).

  • Handmade goods from talented local makers gifts such as ceramics, textiles, candles, paper goods, jewelry, herbal apothecary items, and the kind of greeting cards that make people cry in a good way.

  • Upcycled fashion and accessories, thoughtfully selected by vendors who believe style doesn’t have to come at the cost of the planet.

  • Unexpected treasures: maybe a handbound journal, a reclaimed wood bread board, a disco ball tucked in an antique cabinet. You never know...

Every booth is run by a different vendor. Our retail section is an avenger team of some artists, some collectors, some crafters, all passionate about bringing you something real, useful, and beautiful. Each space reflects the style and soul of the person behind it, so exploring Taproot feels like stepping into a kaleidoscope of tiny worlds.

But wait there’s more!

At Taproot, we believe in getting your hands messy (in the best way). That’s why we’re creating a space for workshops, classes, and creative gatherings. You’ll be able to learn from local instructors in a cozy, welcoming setting.

It’s a place where self-empowerment, sustainability, community, and creativity are more than words.

Feel Free to Sneak a Peek

We’re still putting the finishing touches on the space dusting off vintage mirrors, arranging vendor displays, and pouring a whole lot of love into every square foot.

Until then, we invite you to:

A taproot is the deep unseen, central root that grows boldly downward, anchoring a plant and drawing from hidden sources of water and strength. But beyond its botanical meaning, a taproot is also a symbol of what grounds us; our core passion, identity, or purpose that fuels everything we create and build.

It represents depth in a world that often celebrates shallow surface. It’s where creativity begins. A taproot connects us to something larger than ourselves: our values, our communities, our histories. From that connection, we gain the strength to grow upward and outward, uniquely and unapologetically.

It’s the inner drive that feeds our creativity, the wellspring of courage that empowers us to rise and stretch toward light, even when the surface feels uncertain. It connects us not only to ourselves but to the communities around us—because just like in nature, growth is not a solo act. The taproot may start in one seed, but its strength nurtures a whole ecosystem.

To develop your taproot is to choose intentional growth. It’s a commitment to stay rooted while exploring new ideas. It’s empowerment that starts from within, and radiates into everything you touch. In creative work, in community, in life—taproots are what hold us steady as we reach for something greater.

Have a question?

Don't be afraid to ask. We'll respond as soon as we can!

Hi, I’m so glad you’re here.

I want to tell you about something special I’ve been working on. It’s called Taproot on Trade, and it’s not your average consignment shop. It’s a space I’ve dreamed of for a long time. A space that feels personal, warm, and a little magical. A space where creativity lives in every corner and community is at the heart of everything.

At Taproot, local vendors curate or create everything you’ll find. Plenty of booths and shelves filled with handmade goods, vintage treasures, upcycled fashion, art, objects, and oddities. Each space is designed by the vendor themselves, so every shelf tells its own story. Some pieces are lovingly made. Some are thoughtfully found. But all are chosen with care.

I believe in slow mornings, strong coffee, and meaningful things. I believe in quality over quantity, in self-expression over fast fashion, and in finding joy in the little things like a beautifully imperfect vase or a dress that reminds you of someone you loved.

Taproot is built around four values that guide everything we do:
Self-empowerment. Sustainability. Community. Creativity.

Taproot will be more than a shop it’s a gathering place. We’ll be hosting classes and workshops with local instructors, teaching everything from printmaking and floral arranging to herbal remedies and slow crafts. I want it to be a place where people come to learn, share, laugh, and create together.

Right now, we’re still getting it all ready. Unpacking, styling, building, dreaming. But we’re almost there! If you find yourself walking down Trade Street, feel free to peek in the windows. You might catch a glimpse of what’s coming. This isn’t just a store. It’s a little world I’m building with the help of some incredible local creatives.

I can’t wait to welcome you inside.
